At about five and a half feet in height, this girl resembles an ugly and slightly diminutive German weight-lifter. Her hair, which is a deep dark brown-black, stretches down her back in stringy clumps. Black hair also sprouts from her armpits, visible around the stretched red tank-top she is wearing. Her forehead slopes down to a bulbous nose, perched above lips that are pulled back to reveal elongated and sharp teeth. As well as the tank-top, she is wearing a pair of faded and beaten-up blue jeans, that through some miracle of construction manage to be a little too big for her.
Long dark black hair frames the fair-skinned face of this teen girl. There's a bit of firmness to her jaw line and her brown eyes bracket a thin lipped mouth and a smallish nose. Alesia's frame is a bit thin or lithe while still maintaining a hint of classical features. Her frame is thin and almost wiry. There's almost a sadness in her eyes and her mouth looks like smiles might be foreign to it. She stands just just over four and a half feet tall. She has no piercings or jewelry.
Alesia is wearing a newish sweatshirt that's a light pink shade and looks like it might have picked out by guess as it's a tad large on her. Her pants are blue jeans that while tight only show that she doesn't have much in the way of curves, but more look like they are tight because she grew some since they were bought. Her shoes are a bit out of date as well, just a well worn pair of gym shoes.
Child-Holder (Laura in Crinos)
The creature is around 8 feet tall standing erect, and is an even, glossy black color. Its lithe, its movements smooth and easy in this form. Its fur is short, making the monster seem even leaner. If one can get past the black, dagger sharp claws and clean, white teeth, the thing's eyes are a deep, dark brown. It has smallish ears on it's lupine head, and a short tail. A single, thin scar mars its face, marking a line along the creature's muzzle to its ear. Another, much more jagged, encircles its left leg, and four more circular scars mark its back.
Greek House: Common Area(#2409RAJh$)
This is the central hub of the house. From here, you can still see the entrance foyer, as well as the stairway that heads to the second story. Towards the back of the common area is a set of glass doors that lead out to a courtyard. To the east, an arched doorway leads to what apparently serves as a library, office, and workroom, and to the west, an arched doorway leads to what appears to be a kitchen and dining area..
There are several chairs here, simple, elegant, yet functional in their design and intent. The room has a comfortable feel to it, but is a bit ascetic in design. The walls are off-white, the molding dark cherry wood and decorated with acanthus-leaf ornamentation at the corners. A pair of antique spears are hung crossed against each other on one wall, and a wall-relief depicting a scene of Grecian warriors hangs on the other. Above the mantle of the fireplace is a small statue of Artemis, on either side of that, dark metal candlesticks with ivory pillar candles. The entire room is a study in the contrast of light and dark.
Alesia looks more scared as the crinos takes shape in the room. She stammers, softly so that it might even be missed as Laura does her thing, "H... Helen doesn't like shifting in the house..." The words are muttered but with the ritual going on... who knows if Laura hears that. Alesia cringes more as she's dampened, and the liquid changes temperature oddly.
The elder theurge barely notices the words, or considers them unimportant. Her ears don't even flick. Her last motion is to the fire, smearing ash on her palm. Ever so carefully, still growling the words of the Rite, she paints a glyph on the cub's forehead. Her snarl takes an eerie resonance as the spirits called for the Rite do their work. Abruptly, the wet paw crosses the cub's forehead, wiping away the glyph, and the elder shuffles backwards, nostrils flaring again.
Alesia remainds curled up, sitting on the floor in front of the fire with her knees tugged to her chest. She looks a little scared, a little damp and now a little dirty with that smear on her forehead. She watches Child-Holder, worriedly. Her face is pale as she has her attention all on the other Theurge. She says not a word.
From outside - the courtyard at the back of the house - comes a voice, low and guttural. "Yeah, I'll be fine, Emma." The glass door slides open and KL steps through. She's in Glabro, but the most noticeable thing about her, immediately, is that her clothes are stained and matted into deep wounds on her body. She sees Child-holder, and one large eyebrow raises. "Who..." Whatever the question is, remains unasked as she collapses onto the floor with a huge thump.
Now the crinos head comes up. Her look of satisfaction disappears immediately, and she slips back to homid. "Alesia, bring the backpack here, all of the bags, and especially the knife," she orders. From one emergency to the next she crawls on all fours. "I am Laura Child-Holder, Cliath Theurge of the Black Furies." She scents the new arrival quickly, then crouches next to her and starts pulling at the clothing.
Alesia looks confused as she reaches up and brushes her forehead, then the orders make her startle and she quickly gathers together the stuff for Laura and brings them to the other Theurge, trying to do it as quickly as she can so fumbling a bit but managing to get it all to her in short order.
KL is only unconscious for thirty seconds or so, but when her eyes flick open again, she doesn't get up from her prone position. "Ow," she breathes. "Long walk from the caern. Who are you?" She looks around. "Alesia...I don't make a habit of this." Her eyes close again, and her breath grows ragged.
"Stay down. I hope not, I've only got so many bandages. The knife, Alesia." Laura seems to be having trouble removing some of the cloth from the wounds. "I am Laura Child-Holder. Theurge. Fury."
Alesia hands the knife to Laura and stammers, "Is... is she going to be okay?" She looks worried anew. "C... can you help her?"
The Ahroun has just about remained conscious, this time. "KL Cole. Ahroun. Fury," she whispers in return. "Welcome to St. Claire." The laugh that follows this dissolves into a cough, which itself transforms into a yelp of pain.
Laura snorts, taking the knife and carefully slitting away the fabric. "Welcome back, you mean. Alesia, this is a very important part of the theurge's job," she says, as she picks bits of shirt out of the wounds. "Reassembling Ahrouns. They are very good at getting themselves creatively harmed." The knife comes into play again, to cut away some loose bits of skin. "I am going to use Mother's Touch. Observe if you like. It is not painful or gruesome." With that, she lays her palm over the worst of the injuries and begins to channel Gaia's energies.
Alesia watches, worriedly. and nods, "Okay..." She says softly as she tries to observe, looking like she has some concern for KL's well being.
As the cub watches, the wounds visibly close, and heal over. Not all of them, and not completely, but KL quickly moves from looking like a complete wreck to something more normal. The Ahroun rolls over onto her back and sighs in a relieved sigh. "Goddess, that's better. Thank you." A pause, and her lips stretch into a grin. "Mind if I lie here for a few more moments? Were you using this floor?"
"By all means." Laura smiles and moves so the cub can get a better look at the Ahroun's more-healed injuries. "That is not the only Gift we are given by Gaia," she directs to Alesia. "But it is one of the more potent."
Alesia nods a bit then seems only now to try to figure out all that just happened in the last little bit as she glances back to where she was sitting at the fire then touches her still damp hair. "Did... did what you do work? Is... is everything okay now?"
"Other than me losing another fight?" KL asks, from her supine position. "I'll survive. I would say 'you should see the other guy', but he won, so he's fine." She sighs. "Ignore everything I said about Gunnar, Alesia. I was wrong."
Laura glances from one to the other. "The Rite was successful," she says quietly. "You are free from the taint that remained. Am I to assume Gunnar is the Get of Fenris Anji spoke of the other day?" She turns to KL, pulling a cloth from her pocket and starting to wipe down her hands.
Alesia blinks, "Gunnar?" It's clear the cub isn't sure what KL is refering to. "Um, just so long as you're okay." She says softly as she stands, "Do... do you want something to drink? Maybe... maybe some tea?" She offers to KL.
"Could be. Packmate. I challenged him. I lost." KL explains, still staring at the roof. "Hit him a bit, but he's tough." She shakes her head. "Milk? Good for knitting bones? And returned? Cool."
"Yes," Laura replies. "Back from far, far away. How long has Alesia been Wyrm tainted?" Well, there's no accounting for complete and total bluntness.
Alesia is already on her way to the kitchen, and slips into the other room to get the requested milk.
The Ahroun's reaction is astonishing - suddenly, she's on all fours, staring aghast at Laura. "What the fuck? Wyrm-tainted?" She looks genuinely shocked. "She's been here since we moved her from the farm... and surely Leslie had her checked when she took her there?" Her face is pale. "I took her...fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck."
The reaction's enough to assure Laura of the sincerety of the Ahroun, and she picks up her canteen. "Someone should tell the Guardians where she was and what she's seen. It was not much. Atrophied at best, but the bane that touched her may have followed. She was still tainted, until a few minutes ago."
Alesia can be heard getting a glass and pouring milk in the kitchen,.
"Oh great." KL says, slumping back down to the floor. "Lose a challenge, discover I've broken the litany. What a fucking fantastic day." She sighs loudly, and shifts slowly down to homid. "Still, at least I can go and talk to the Guardians now. Thank you."
Alesia returns with a mostly full glass of cold milk for KL and a some what scared look on her face, "I... I'm sorry." From the way she says it it's clear she thinks she's done something wrong as she offers KL the glass.
Laura rolls her shoulder. "I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It sounds as though Leslie may be more at fault, but I'm not a half-moon." She roots in her backpack for a moment, then pulls out a leather bag. "Shortbread?"
KL takes the glass and drains it. "Not your fault," she says, with a grin at the cub. "Mine." She looks at Laura. "Please, I'm famished."
Alesia looks at the glass then KL and asks, "Do you want more milk?" She asks as she offers to take it back from KL. "I didn't want to get you into any trouble..."
Laura hands over the bag with a slight smile, then motions for Alesia to sit. "You've done nothing wrong," she tries to reassure the cub.
"My fault, as I said." KL reaches into the back and pulls out a piece of shortbread. "Thanks," she says again, handing the bag back. "Right...I'd better go find a Guardian." She looks down at her blood-soaked clothing. "In Lupus, I think. Nice to meet you. Thank you."
"When you get something new, I can Dedicate," Laura notes. "Sorry you had to leave so quickly." She takes out another piece of cookie and gives it to KL. "Here. You're hungry, eat. I'll be making dinner soon, I think, so if you feel so inclined, come back and have some."
Alesia nods a bit then looks at the glass, "Um, sh... should I go too?" She asks KL worriedly, "Or... or no?"
"No." KL says, before wolfing a cookie quickly. "I won't be too long." She stands up, and heads towards the door she collapsed through barely minutes ago. "See you later." WIth that, she slides it open, and is gone.
